Loom Knit Kirby

My grandson LOVES Kirby (a Nintendo character), and he and his mom spotted an amigrumi Kirby for about $20 on Etsy. Not wanting to spend that much money on something I could make, he and his mom decided to ask if I could come up with one. And here he is!

Here's a closeup (notice the Kirby my grandson drew in Paint on his computer in the background here):

Similar child's hat

Photobucket
Photobucket

Knitted on green Knifty Knitter loom, two strands (red and black) worsted weight acrylic yarn, similar to his sister's hat in a previous entry.  Two down, one to go!

Love the patriotic theme to this post.  My grandson with his red and black hat, red and white striped shirt, and Lady Liberty with the flag behind him.

Child's hat

Photobucket

Knifty Knitter green loom

cotton worsted weight thread, two strands for the brim, one strand for the rest of the hat, ribbed for "several" rows just above the brim

Pattern: Idea came from a fellow loomer, and I went from there with it.

I wish I had a better shot of this hat.  Her brothers both want one of their own! Looks like I've got some knitting to do!

Skirt made on the blue Knifty Knitter loom, modeled by my 7 year old granddaughter, also showing (top left corner) a 'sleeping bag' we made for one of her stuffed animals (smallest KK Loom, make a hat long enough to fit the animal, knit off, and you have a sleeping bag!)

acrylic worsted weight

Pattern is entirely my own.

It is thick enough she can wear it for school.

Three shots of my granddaughter's hat, made on a KKLoom. As you can see, she enjoys it (or maybe she just likes mugging for the camera)

As you can see, I've been very busy with the loom!

Yarn: red heart or lion brand worsted weight
double knit, solid portion red on one side, pink on the other (VERY cute)

I made this for my 7 year old granddaughter as a Christmas present.  She loved it!

Loom knit sweater, hat and scarf (as wrap here)

loom knit sweater and hat (detail shot)

Pertinent info on this project:
Loom was (sweater) KK long blue, and it's double knit
yarn was: Sensations Rainbow Boucle Patterns Self-Patterning Boucle in color # 1219

Loom for the hat: KK Green round, same yarn
Scarf (used as a wrap in this picture) is a magic scarf, made on the KK yellow round.

My daughter loves this set. The yarn is incredibly soft and cuddly.

Loom knit tube socks

loom knit tube socks

These are a pair of TUBE SOCKS made on the KK blue round loom. They start at the top and finish at the toes.

The top is 2x2 rib for approx. 2" Knit to desired length, and finish with a gathered toe (like you would the top of a hat)

yarn used is the Sensations Rainbow Classic

Here they are being modeled, again, by the ever adorable 5 year old. He very much enjoys wearing them. At times, we have to PEEL THEM OFF HIM to get him to let us WASH THEM.

Magic Scarf

cowardly lion Derek

This is a Fun Fur Magic Scarf made on a KK green loom, being modeled here by the ever adorable 5 year old grandson. He wanted to wear the one here and a champagne colored one on his body and go as the Cowardly Lion for Halloween.
